Welcome to Doucecroft School! We’re delighted to have you here. At Doucecroft, we provide a safe, nurturing environment where children can grow in confidence, independence, and pride in their achievements.
Our unique and inclusive curriculum is designed to inspire and build on each child’s strengths, ensuring every learner feels valued and supported. Guided by four core principles, we aim to create an enriching learning experience for all.
Located near Colchester in Essex, Doucecroft is more than a school—it’s a community. Together with parents and staff, we’re committed to preparing children for a successful, fulfilling future. Our caring and dedicated team is passionate about helping every child reach their full potential while fostering a lifelong love of learning.

Founded in 1977, we have lots of experience helping learners with all kinds of strengths and needs. We create a caring and supportive place where learners can succeed, become more confident, and grow more independent.

Autumn Term 2024: 4th September – 20th December.Half term: 28th October – 1st November. Additional training days: 2nd / 3rd September and 25th October. Non pupil days: 20th December.
Spring Term 2025: 6th January – 4th April. Half term: 17th February – 21st February. Non-Pupil Days: 13th, 14th February and 4th April.
Summer Term 2025: 22nd April to 22nd July. Half Term: 26th May – 30th May 2025. May Bank Holiday: 5th May 2025. Non-Pupil Days: 2nd June 2025
