Steve Pittuck
Trustee
How long have you been a Trustee of Autism Anglia?
About 28 years.
What made you become a Trustee of Autism Anglia?
I felt it important to be involved in the organisation supporting both my son and family. I believe that when you receive such a high degree of assistance then you should contribute back to society.
What is your background?
I spent 32 years working in the banking industry in many different roles. Eleven years ago I took a redundancy package and secured a job as Art & Design Technology Technician at our local academy.
What is it that you bring to Autism Anglia?
I bring the perspective of a parent of a profoundly autistic young man. I believe that I have a sound analytical ability along with a knowledge of finance, which I use to hold the management team to account. This being one of the Trustee’s prime responsibilities. I have an excellent memory and am able to recall decisions and developments from the last 26 years to help inform current discussions.
What are your interests outside of Autism Anglia?
I have a wide range of interests. I am an avid reader and will consume one or two books a week. I design and fabricate items out of wood, metal, plastic, clay and fabric. These I sell from a craft stall run by myself, my wife, my daughter and her partner. We attend wood festivals and rallies throughout the country. I also regularly attend auctions, buying wooden tool boxes and tools. I renovate and repair these to sell on.
